On Tuesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 19, the grade 7/8 students journeyed to Fort LaCloche to work on their physical fitness and teamwork skills by trying their hand at canoeing.
Students spent the morning from about 9:00am to 11:00am out on the water, building confidence and developing their skills. Because of the large size of the group, we had students out on both the voyageur canoe, and the smaller 2-person canoes.
On the Thursday, students spent the entire day at Fort LaCloche to learn about the area, explore the trails and play games.
Logan, Sky, Mike and Kevin were the facilitators for the canoeing experience, and both days saw a total of 16 students out on the water. Those who were uncomfortable being on the water went for a hike to explore the natural beauty surrounding the Fort.
