Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik, Daycare friends, collaborated on a visit to Biidaaban today for a 'Reading Buddies' program with Grade 7 students.
This activity was developed to introduce daycare children --who will be transitioning to Early Learning at Biidaaban next year -- a chance to ride the bus, see the school, familiarize themselves with a new space, and have a story read to them. It gives senior students an opportunity to connect with younger members of the community, encourage an interest in reading, and develop leadership/positive role model skills.
The new library at Biidaaban offers a comfy space to read, relax, and learn together with an assortment of resources available, providing a safe and supported learning journey.
