Everyone in the community is invited to attend on Thursday, September 12th, the celebratory Grand Opening of Biidaaban’s new school building now located at 1666 Toulouse Bay Road.
The celebration will include an opening prayer and passages, an honour song, guest remarks, ribbon cutting, dedication, followed up with a catered grab-and-go style lunch. School and Education Department staff look forward to welcoming everyone as we come together as a community to honour the new building, site, and beneficiaries of the school with your supportive presence and intentions.
Our community has waited a few years for this day to arrive, and now it is here! Come check out the school inside, bring a spirit of light and love to its halls and classrooms, and enjoy time together with students, families, teachers, departmental staff and honoured guests, as we begin this new story in Sagamok.
It is important to note that there is NO PARKING available at the school that day. The parking lot in front of the school will be used to host the gathering for all attendees. Parking is arranged at the New Community Hall and a shuttle service will be provided for everyone until 9:55am. The celebration commences at 10:00.
Thank you in advance to our shuttle operators, the planning committee for organizing the festivities, and all who contributed to making this special day and school a reality. School and Education Department staff, along with support from community members and the Chief and Council, hope to achieve an awesome learning experience that includes clear, responsive processes, safe and supported learning journeys; inspired and infused with Anishinaabe Aadziwin culture for every child.
